Protect Yourself from Scams
Scammers sometimes try to use Bitcoin ATMs. Remember these rules:
- Never buy Bitcoin because someone on the phone, text, or social media told you to (especially if they claim to be police, IRS, a company support agent, or a romantic interest).
- Never share your wallet recovery phrase (seed words) with anyone.
- Never send Bitcoin to an address given by a stranger who contacted you first.
- Legitimate support will never ask you to deposit cash into an ATM and send the coins to them.
